WIN: Five Days in Australia's Wine Country

THE MILAWA-KING VALLEY in Victoria’s north-eastern alpine country, a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Melbourne, is famed for its boutique wineries and abundance of gourmet produce. Visitors take their pick from the area’s handmade cheeses, honeys, olives, mustards, nuts and berries. And then there’s the wine – most notably from long-established Brown Brothers and neighbouring Lindenwarrah. However, Lindenwarrah’s merlot is not its only drawcard – Lindenwarrah Country House is a member of Select Hotels & Resorts International where guests are cherished with the most sophisticated of accommodation and all sorts of gourmet treats.

Our prize covers five nights of luxurious comfort at Lindenwarrah Country House and days spent sampling the local offerings. Anticipate a three-course lunch at Brown Brothers that includes a private tasting and winery tour. Sharpen those culinary skills with a private cooking class run by the executive chef of Lindenwarrah’s Merlot Restaurant, using ingredients from local artisan producers. Work up an appetite by exploring the Valley – it’s Ned Kelly country – or drifting in the hotel’s heated swimming pool or spa retreat. Bliss. And if such an idyllic way of life seems too hard to leave, the two dozen bottles of Lindenwarrah wine (worth $800 and included in the prize) will keep the memories alive after you’ve come home.

The prize is for two people and is valued at $6000.
