Lancome shines the spotlight on men's skin with the launch of a new premium range.

As far as launches go, it was a big one. Lancome, a brand associated with women’s luxury cosmetics, has released a premium-priced anti-ageing range aimed at men. And with the top product priced at $110, it can only be seen as an enterprizing attempt to treat male consumers as seriously as women. And why not? Men have been stealing women’s products for years. Why shouldn’t they benefit from the same research that helps the fairer sex look … well ... better? It’s not actually exactly the same research. There is a difference in men’s and women’s skins, mainly due to the fact that men’s skin is oilier and that they shave. Those are the two main reasons why they appear to age more slowly than women. But once they start to show the signs, moisturizer at the very least is required. The new Lancome range includes more than just a hydrator, of course. There are three types of moisturizers (for different age groups), an eye cream, a cleanser, a shaving foam and an exfoliator. Now there’s a real reason to keep your luxury skin-care products all for yourself.
Lancome Men Renergy 3D, $110, Exfoliating Microdermabrasion, $59, Hydrix Moisturising Gel, $75, and High Definition Shave Foam, $45.
