Web Exclusive - Necklines

What necklines suit what figures? Here's a handy guide to what WILL LOOK GOOD ON you.

High round neck

Suits: Most figure types.
Avoid: If you have a really large bust, since it could make you look matronly.
When to wear: This type of neckline is less dressy, more casual, than others.

Cotton T-shirt with sleeve detailing by Browns, $59.

High V neck

Suits: All figure types.
Avoid: Teaming high V necklines with ultra-conservative bottoms – the two combined can look dull. The exaggerated button detailing on this jumper, however, adds interest to what could be a routine top.
When to wear: When you mean business.

Jumper by Stitch Ministry.

Scoop neck

Suits: Most figure types.
Avoid: If you are very slender, the neckline with draw attention to prominent collar bones.
When to wear: This is a very pretty top with an enormously flattering neckline. Wear it when you want to make a good impression.

Lee Mathews top, $259, from Maggie Potter.

Low V

Suits: Most figure types but especially those with small busts.
Avoid: Wearing nothing underneath unless you want to cause an accident. Team it with a plain camisole, high round neck T or a polo.
When to wear: An exaggerated neckline garners attention. Wear it when you want to get noticed.

Wide V neck

Suits: Most figure types.
Avoid: If you are very slender or very petite.
When to wear: This is the perfect neckline for someone with a larger bust. The width of the neckline creates balance, the deep V is very sexy.
